and don't forget to add a positive quote, and a tag with the following on it.

Corinna plants in NYC!

I planted several around the city, but this one was my favorite, as the inspiration for this project came from a flower growing out of a brick wall.

Sommer Plants in Brooklyn!

Sommer:
Here are some photos of my lone daffodil and a pic of it "planted" in a weird garden at a funeral home on court street in carroll gardens. i ended up going a completely different route than i originally intended!

I used my kitchen tea towel as a muse and then butchered it. the colors are a bit crazy, but i think it looks like a daffodil.

I embroidered the "peace" and "love" on the leaves and the stem is a wooden dowel wrapped in green yarn. i used wire as an armature for the leaves and a few of the petals for shaping. for a last minute project, i was quite pleased with the result, and hope you like it, too! can't wait to see more pictures of everyone else's!

Nomi plants in Austin, TX!

Now that I’m a pre-school teacher I got alittle inspiration and planting help from my students.
We planted the flower on our playground and had long talks about what the attached note meant.
I made my daffodil from felt, embroidery floss and a popsicle stick.

Nomi Joy Parker is currently a pre-school teacher, artist/photographer/craft-
creator transplanted 2 springs ago from brooklyn ny to austin texas.

Fantastic Nomi!!!

Meredith plants in NYC!

Meredith: "I hit up bits of the East Village, and midtown from 57th - 37th. It was fun! What a trip with the snow this morning though!"

My favorite is the one tucked into the Strand Bookstore's $1 book rack!

Fiber Deviant "plants" in Greenvile, SC (Main Street)!

hi, Corinna!
just wanted to send you pics of my "planted" daffodils ...here in downtown Greenville, SC... thanks for thinking up such a great project! i loved participating! and hope to see pics all over from other participants!

I ended up making 2 daffodils for The First Craft of Spring ( www.firstcraftofspring.blogspot.com or www.boozeandyarn.com ) public art project. Choosing the quote for the project was easy... "Be the change you want to see in the world ... Ghandi", has always been a favorite of mine. It puts the power of change on the individual... you don't have to wait for change to come... YOU can be the change!

I "planted" both of my daffodils in downtown Greenville on Main St., figuring that would be the area in which they had the most impact. Sugar Daddy helped me "plant" these at around 1 am; it was a little more difficult than I had imagined... lots of people (and policemen!) are still out and about downtown at that time. It was really hard being inconspicuous!

I chose the statue of Joel Poinsett , who was a physician, botanist and American statesman, as the spot for the daffodil in the pot cozy... it is right downtown, close to city hall. I think it will have good visibility there.

And then I chose the statue representing Sterling High School, which was South Carolina's first public black high school.

My hope for participating in this project is to highlight some Greenville history; and to inspire change... change that starts at an individual level -- but will end up impacting the world.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD

Melissa plants 38 flowers in NYC!

Melissa planted 38 of her fabulous Daffodil Joker cards today!!!!

Here's what Melissa has to say about here art:
its a silly joker card i drew up with a rad Darwin quote on the back of them.
i wanted to use a joker card because i always find random cards around the city
when i am walking around and whenever i play cards (with my crazy italian family)
the joker is always the lucky card to have. so i figured bringing some luck to fellow
new yorkers today. :)

Love it Melissa, send along the planted pictures!!

Artist Showcase! Ariel

Ariel experimented with wire and beads. The quote is part of a longer quote by Rabbi Hillel. The entire quote is:
If I am not for me, who will be?
If I am only for me, who am I?
If not now, when?

I love it! Have fun planting it tomorrow, Ariel!
