Knitted Daffodil pattern

Materials
1 set - 4 double pointed needles (DPNs), size 9
Flower: 1 ball - Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick – Orange (Pumpkin 133)
Stem: Patons Classic Wool – Green (Deep Olive) – using a Double strand of yarn

1 chopstick, thick wire, or stick to use for the stem.

this pattern does not need to be an exact gauge. If using medium weight yarn (as I did for the stem), use 2 strands of yarn at the same time.

Using 4 DPNs and Orange yarn, cast on 9 stitches. Divide sts onto 3 needles, and join yarn to work in the round.

Row 15: k3

Row 16: p3tog
Cut yarn, and draw tail through last remaining loop.

Stem
Using 2 DPNs and Green yarn (2 strands), cast on 4 sts.

Work I-Cord for 8 inches (or desired length). Bind off.

Finishing
Sew cast on (wide edge) edge of petals to the cast on (narrow) end of flute.

Conceal all loose tails of yarn for petals and and flute inside of the I-Cord.
Sew I-Cord to base of flower.
Run the chopstick, wire, or stick through the I-Cord to create a strong stem.
Weave in any remaining yarn ends.
Please email me with questions or for a printer friendly copy of this pattern.
